We homeschool and live in South Africa.

Easy Peasy

We currently use the Easy Peasy All-In-One Homeschool curriculum. It is an American curriculum, and Afrikaans being one our official languages, are not part of it. My kids love the format of Easy Peasy and did not like working out of the Afrikaans files. I decided to try to do something online and they absolutely LOVE it!! Apparently, it is more fun now … and much quicker…

I found a lot of free websites with Afrikaans information and use as much of that on these pages as I could.

e-classroomAs a basis, I used E-Classroom, because I do not have formal teaching experience and needed a basis to work from. E-Classroom requires a membership fee of R30 per year. To be able to make proper use of the Afrikaans pages on Mom Outnumbered, you would also need to be a member of E-Classroom. As I am learning and finding more or possibly “better” material, this might change in the future.

I designed these specifically for my own children, starting with Grade 4, 6 and 9. Some grades the level would be higher than the normal standard, but that is because it is customised. It is still a work in progress and I will be adding more levels as my children move on. With time, I will also try to add Grade R to 3.

This is Afrikaans First Additional Language (FAL).
